Political Meanderings

So there I am. It’s one of those days where you have to do the same repetative task for four hundred files. And you have to do them sequentially. And you have to wait a few seconds for each one to be done. And you’re very bored, and pretty fed up because you learn that if the server software had been updated to the latest version, you could do it all in seconds with a few clicks of the mouse. But it hasn’t so you can’t.
So what do you do? Well you take a trawl round TheyWorkForYou.com and see what you can find out about your MP – not having done so since I moved into her consitiency, I thought it might be worth a look.
Not a huge amount did I find other than that Siobhain McDonald is sickeningly loyal to the Labour party line.
More intesting though, and something I’m really not sure what to make of the fact that my MP spends the more on
postage than any other MP in the UK. Coincidentally she’s also the second biggest spender of stationery!
I’m presuming that’s a good thing – that it means she replies to lots of
letters from her constituents, but at £31,000 one wonders just what she’s
sending out! Maybe I should write a letter and find out…
Mind you on the otherhand, in May 2004, she sung
the concerns of south-west London in a transport debate…
Ah, the internet. Such joyous information you do show us.
