Gone Fishing

As you may have read on 10 June I left the BBC after 11½ years. And when you leave after that long, and you leave at that time of the year, just what do you do?

Take the summer off!

And that’s precisely what I’m doing. I’m heading off to do some (hopefully!) fun things and the first of those starts very quickly on Sunday 12 June when I board a sleeper train to Scotland in order to walk the Southern Upland Way. I’ve no idea how long it will take me – about three weeks I guess – but I have to be back for a wedding in mid July. But once that’s done I’ll be heading off to Canada on holiday with Catherine as well.

The upshot of all of this is that I will be putting this blog on hiatus until some point in August whilst I go off and enjoy myself. There will be a couple of posts scheduled to go up on Rambling Man whilst I’m away, but nothing new here. I will be leaving comments open whilst I’m off, however there may be several weeks before they’re published.

In the meantime, feel free to explore the rest of this site, or maybe help out with my unemployed-person’s beer fund by buying one of my books. I’ll even let you read it as well.

See you in August!
