Give the spamming man a gunshot…

It’s bad enough turning on your computer after three days only to find some f***er has used your domain name as the from address whilst spamming the bergeebus out of half the known world. But then you find that several hundred of those email addresses the b***ards have used are no longer in operation, so you get several hundred “message not delivered” emails.

Around about a 1000 I think.

But what’s worse is the incredible lengths I have to go through with my mail filters to catch all these reject messages and put them in a folder so I don’t have to read them.

I’ve got at least ten different message titles in my .procmailrc and that doesn’t cover all of them – especially not the ones in Spanish… Would it have been too much for the people who create email standards to have put in some sort of header element – the email equivalent to a 404? Or to have mandated a series of defined titles.

Okay, okay. It’s not their fault. Email was designed in simpler times. If people had known the lengths these scum would go to just to bombard people with messages telling them their breasts aren’t big enough, then maybe things would have been designed better… I just need to let off steam… It’s bad enough when I have to sort through the spam crap I get sent, but to have to sort through the results of crap sent to someone else is worse…

Oh and another thing… Whoever writes the software that sends the emails back with the title **Message you sent blocked by our bulk email filter**… you better change it… That’s all I’m going to say. Just change the confounded thing. Innocent until proven guilty…
