It’s all in the wording…

Web icon set to be discontinued” screamed the headline from the pages of BBC News’s website.

Was I the only one who instantly started racking my brains trying to think of appropiate icons that represented the web – was there some age old attempt to represent webpages in the same way that people now represent feeds or sharing of content. Some piece of iconography which had some how escaped my attention over these last 11 years?

Err. No. The article’s actually about AOL finally ending support for Netscape Navigator…
