Anyone else remember that 1990s BBC digital promo that proclaimed "Soon you’ll be able to see, as well as hear radio?" That promise is slowly becoming true as Radio 1 pilots a fully visual radio experience. Now if someone could just get me the bandwidth to do this kind of stuff on the TV screen, we’d be well away!

Catherine got the first DVD of this show for Christmas. Imagine a 1960s Hanna Barbara superhero given a new show where he’s a lawyer, defending other 1960s Hanna Barbara characters in legal battles in a courtroom. Then imagine it far funnier than I have described. Well worth tracking down.

Apparently only 0.24% of the shares HBOS offered to its shareholders, were taken up by them. Not entirely surprising – the price was about 40p more than the cost of the shares on the open market. I’m sure the Government (who will be taking up the slack) have got themselves a good deal… Well in the long term anyway.

"It’s not as if I am going to Helmand province." (Apparently he’ll continue to live in the South in the weekends, and presumably will continue to present Watchdog in London – which could make for a life spent mostly on Virgin Trains…)
