Apparently 3pm is the best time for a meeting. Which is ironic cos in our office we tried having no meeting afternoons… They were fine initially until it was discovered that it actually meant meetings ended up being scheduled weeks and weeks in advance as it was the only way to get everyone together… I think that was a hint that people had too many meetings…

Really interesting site that compares what’s playing on a select number of stations. I really like the comparison feature which I used to see overlap on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and BBC Radio 6music’s playlists. Some people will swear blind that there’s loads of overlap. Meanwhile the computer says no… Then there’s the variety – Radio 1 has 33% music variety, Capital 3% for example. 6music’s on 65%. Great stuff!

In general when times allow it, I strongly feel all employers should give their staff a party every now and then – makes for a happy workforce who feel appreciated – but I did my sums on this and reckon that by not paying for Christmas parties that saves you – yes, that’s you – about £1m this year. And when times are financially bad, belts do have to be tightened. Every little helps after all even if you are a multi-billion pound organisation.
