It was time to wave goodbye to the south of France, and head to the capital.
The final day of walking was upon us as we saw streams, hills and a popular lake.
After a days rest, it was back to the hills again, enjoying the slightly spooky empty hamlet, a big climb, a lovely lake and a long descent.
With dodgy knees to relax, it was time for a nice, simple, but very beautiful walk along the river. Plus, of course, a quick look at the fantastic Mount Viso.
With the rain left behind, it was up a hill, then down again to our next stop. Fantastic views, beautiful scenery and... err... painful legs...
It's day three, and time to leave the Hôtel La Cascade. The Col Fromage beckons, followed by the Col des Estronques. Oh and the pretty village of St-Véran.
It's 22 July 2007 and time for the first walk of our walking holiday in the Queyras region of France. This days walk - a circular walk of the hills and lakes around Ceillac.
On 21 July 2007, we headed on a multitude of trains towards the Queyras Alps in France. This is part one of that holiday.
