Who would have thought that an angry, ranting post about GE Money, would result in so much feedback? And not all of a good kind...
Turns out that in the end, the £8 had never been refunded to the credit card in the first place - they'd refunded it as a gift certificate instead, mainly as the original purchase had been mostly gift certificate based.

Which rather annoyed me, because I'd just set up a direct debit for the account so that every month, the full balance would be paid off. When it comes to credit cards, I'm the annoying person that the banks hate because I always - and I mean always - pay off my bill.
