I've been working at home today after breaking part of a tooth off by biting into a bit of stone in my muesli resulted in a quick repair job at the dentist. And no, I never thought I'd say such a lame excuse for not travelling to White City either.
There's a piece in the Daily Mirror today, in outrage about the fact that apparently (and there's no source quoted, so who knows how true this is)...
But regardless, it's that time of year when the old website gets its Christmas finery - with some new, seasonal graphics. And baubles.
Here's a question. Where is "The North"? The question came up in my mind whilst thinking about booking train tickets for the dreaded Christmas cross-country train trip in order that I might sit in a different house eating food, watching TV and drinking beer, instead of doing it in my own.
Whoever you are, wherever you are, best wishes to you all, and remember - drink responsibly, certainly don't get unlicensed minicabs home, and most of all remember that quadruple vodkas are never a good idea.
This year the Library Theatre Company of Manchester put on Oliver Twist. And it was superb.
So I've been in a pub before now where a brass band turned up playing carols, but never have I been in a pub where they brought a nonchelant sheep, a petrified looking pony and a vicar who lead an informal carol service. Well until tonight anyway!
If you're not reading this in a newsreader then you may notice that the Christmas lights have gone up here at Bods's Blog. I finally decided that I felt festive enough to put a little bit of reddish pixie dust on the old site, although it was a close run thing.
Oh, the holly? Well it is that time of year.
